They are all series that I really enjoyed.

Archangel's Consort
Nalini Singh

A vampire has attacked a girls’ school—the assault one of sheer, vicious madness—and it is only the first act. Rampant bloodlust takes vampire after vampire, threatening to make the streets run with blood. Then Raphael himself begins to show signs of an uncontrolled rage, as inexplicable storms darken the city skyline and the earth itself shudders. The omens are suddenly terrifyingly clear.

An ancient and malevolent immortal is rising. The violent winds whisper her name: Caliane. She has returned to reclaim her son, Raphael. Only one thing stands in her way: Elena, the consort who must be destroyed…

River Marked
Patricia Briggs
(Mercedes Thompson #6)
Published March 1st 2011

Car mechanic Mercy Thompson has always known there was something different about her, and not just the way she can make a VW engine sit up and beg. Mercy is a shapeshifter, a talent she inherited from her long-gone father. She's never known any others of her kind. Until now.
An evil is stirring in the depths of the Columbia River-one that her father's people may know something about. And to have any hope of surviving, Mercy and her mate, the Alpha werewolf Adam, will need their help...

City of Fallen Angels
Cassandra Clare
(The Mortal Instruments #4)
Published April 5th 2011

City of Fallen Angels takes place two months after the events of City of Glass. In it, a mysterious someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and displaying their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, leaving tensions running high in the city and disrupting Clary’s plan to lead as normal a life as she can — training to be a Shadowhunter, and pursuing her relationship with Jace. As Jace and Clary delve into the issue of the murdered Shadowhunters, they discover a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever.

Meanwhile, internecine warfare among vampires is tearing the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

Follow Friday & Blog hop (6)

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee's View

This week's question is:

Keeping with the dystopian and apocalypse theme that seems to be running rampant on, I have one very hard question for you: If you were stocking your bomb shelter, what books would you HAVE to include if you only had space for ten?
Very tough question, I think I would take:
The Chicagoland Vampires series (4) (with Hard Bitten)
The Hunger Games series (3)
The Host by Stephenie Meyer

I have to think for a while before I put the last two in.

This week's question is:

Summer is coming quickly - what 2011 summer release are you are most looking forward to?
Another tough question as there are a lot of books on that list!

I'm really looking forward to Bloodlines by Richelle Mead, I loved her Vampire Academy series and I cannot wait to read more even if it's not about Rose I think it's going to be another great adventure.
Bloodlines will be out August 23rd 2011.

Cover art (14) Trance and If I Die

Wow there a lot of new covers here are two more:

Anything with purple catch my interest. I like her hair to with the purple in it. I also like the energy/light that sparks from her hand, it give the book a very mysterious and powerful look.
Expected publication: October 25, 2011 US.

About Trance:
Fifteen years ago, Teresa “Trance” West was a skilled telepath and a proud member of the Ranger Corps. But ever since the Rangers were inexplicably rendered powerless at the climax of the devastating Meta War, she’s bounced from one dead-end job to another. Now her powers have reappeared just as mysteriously as they vanished— only they’re completely transformed and more potent than ever. And they’re threatening to destroy her.

Trance heads to Los Angeles to track down the surviving Rangers and discover who restored her powers—and why—but a phantom enemy is determined to kill them before they can reassemble. As they dodge his deadly attacks and come to terms with their new role as heroes, Trance and the rest of the team set out to annihilate the sinister madman . . . only to discover their own powers are his greatest weapons.

Pretty, pretty, pretty this cover looks great, the dress is beautiful I like how it's flowing around them.
I cannot wait to read it. I love rachel Vincent's books.

But the next scream might hit too close to home. Kaylee’s borrowed lifeline has almost run out.

Yeah—it’s a shock to her, too. So to distract herself from her own problems, Kaylee is determined to defend her school against the latest supernatural threat. That hot new teacher is really an incubus, who feeds from the desire of unsuspecting students. The only girls immune to his lure are Kaylee and Sabine, her boyfriend’s delinquent ex-girlfriend. Now the unlikely allies have to get rid of Mr. Beck…before he discovers they aren’t quite human either.

But Kaylee’s running out of time, and those who love her will do anything to save her life.

News 2:

Kelly Meding has revealed the back cover description of Another Kind of Dead, book three in her Dreg City series.
Expected publication: July 26th 2011 US.

She can heal her own wounds. She can nail a monster to a wall. But there’s one danger Evangeline Stone never saw coming.

Been there. Done that. Evy Stone is a former Dreg Bounty Hunter who died and came back to life with some extraordinary powers. Now all but five people in the world think she is dead again, this time for good—immolated in a factory fire set specifically for her. Evy and Wyatt, her partner/lover/friend, can no longer trust their former allies, or even the highest echelons of the Triads—the army of fighters holding back from an unsuspecting public a tide of quarreling, otherworldly creatures—they can trust only each other. Because when the Triads raided a macabre, monster-filled lab of science experiments and hauled away the remnants, they failed to capture their creator: a brilliant, vampire-obsessed scientist with a wealth of powerful, anti-Dreg weaponry to trade for what he desires most of all—Evy Stone: alive and well, and the key to his ultimate experiment in mad science.

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy-For-Books

This week's question is:

If you find a book you love, do you hunt down other books by the same author?

Of cause! No question about it. I love finding new books that way.
Often if I love a book it's because of the style of the writing and that is individual to every author but you can almost always feel the same vibe in an authors work even if it's a different book.

Review: Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill

Book four in the Chicagoland Vampires series

About Hard Bitten

Times are hard for newly minted vampire Merit. Ever since shapeshifters announced their presence to the world, humans have been rallying against supernaturals--and they're camping outside of Cadogan House with protest signs that could turn to pitchforks at any moment. Inside its doors, things between Merit and her Master, green-eyed heartbreaker Ethan Sullivan are ... tense. But then the mayor of Chicago calls Merit and Ethan to a clandestine meeting and tells them about a violent vamp attack that has left three women missing. His message is simple: get your House in order. Or else.

Merit needs to get to the bottom of this crime, but it doesn't help that she can't tell who's on her side. So she secretly calls in a favor from someone who's tall, dark, and part of underground vamp group that may have some deep intel on the attack. Merit soon finds herself in the heady, dark heart of Chicago's supernatural society--a world full of vampires who seem too ready to fulfill the protesting human's worst fears, and a place where she'll learn that you can't be a vampire without getting a little blood on your hands...

A story that worms its way into your heart and stays there, this is a must read. Don't miss it!

I'm speechless!
Wow just wow this series keeps getting better and better after the last book I really didn't think it was possible.

This book had me reading all night and going through the emotional rollercoaster all the way. Hard Bitten made me laugh to my stomach hurt and made me cry a river.

I like how Merit is growing and she gets more and more comfortable in her role as the Sentinel of Cagorian House. I love that she still has her wit and that she still stand up for what she believes in.
There are still a lot of problems in Chicago and as always the book is full of action, humour, romance and the questions of where you belong and who to trust.

The story was so fantastic and I loved getting to know even more about all the characters I know and love from the previous books and the plot was really intense and took this book to a whole new level of brilliant, I had not seen the ending coming at all, praise to Chloe Neill for writing such a masterpiece of a book.

It's going to be a difficult wait for Drink Deep and I can't wait to find out where the story is going after this turning point in Hard Bitten but I'll be waiting impatiently.

I give Hard Bitten 5 out of 5!

[Thank you Chloe Neill for sending me an ARC of this book]

Other books in this series:
1# Some Girls Bite
5# Drink Deep (November 2011)

Interview with author Chloe Neill, Hard Bitten Blog Tour

I'm so honored and happy to welcome Chloe Neill to the blog today.
I absolutely love her books and her Chicagoland Vampires series is one of my favourite series.
Book number four Hard Bitten releases on May 3, 2011.

I was born and raised in the South, but now make my home in the Midwest, just close enough to Cadogan House and St. Sophia's to keep an eye on things.  When not transcribing Merit’s and Lily's adventures, I bake (a lot!), watch entirely too much television, root for my favorite college football team (Go Big Red!), spend time with friends and my beau, Jeremy, and play with my dogs, Baxter and Scout.

Where is your favourite spot to read?
I don't have much time to read, but I try to grab a few minutes before bed every night.
I can see that you like to bake. What is your favourite thing you bake?
I love baking cookies. Jeremy, my boyfriend, has a favorite recipe that I'm getting pretty good at cooking.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?My professional goal is to hit one of the national bestseller lists in the U.S. I really hope that can happen in the next five years!

If you meet a vampire in real life, what would you do?Probably scream and run away. Or ask if he knows Ethan. :)

I also like the thought of vampires singing Blackbird a capella and if you should mention some of the vampires who would have to do the singing, who would you choose?I actually already have vampires singing it; it's a scene from one of the future CV novels, so I can't give anything else away!

For people who have yet to read your series can you describe The Chicagoland Vampires in three sentences?
Sure! A graduate student becomes a vampire. She must learn to be brave and battle enemies of her House. And she has a lot of heat and tension with Ethan Sullivan, her Master vampire!

Mention three words about Hard Bitten that describes the content of the book?
Mayor. Raves. Drama!

If you had to choose one thing you like the most from the cover of Hard Bitten, what would it be?
I love how Merit is looking back over her shoulder. It's such a great look.

Up until now your books has been full of action, sarcasm and romance (I like that a lot by the way), what can we expect from the next books? Thanks! Action, sarcasm and romance are the three parts of my writing style, so future books will include the same elements.

What is your favourite thing when you have a new book released?
I love reading reviews of people who were really moved by the books--whether they laugh, cry, or get angry over something a character has done.

Thanks for having me today!

Thank you so much for stopping by, it's great to be a part of your Hard Bitten tour, the book is amazing and I'm very excited to read Drink Deep when it come out on November 1, 2011.

Now, Chrysabelle and Malkolm must work together to stop a plot to merge the mortal and supernatural worlds. If they fail, a chaos unlike anything anyone has ever seen will threaten to reign.

News 3:

Kiersten White has annouced that a director is attached to Paranormalcy.

Here is what she writes:
Scott Winant, who has several Emmys and esteemed television and cable series to his name, is on board as director. They're still looking for a screenwriter which, in all honesty, makes me very happy. I've been so thrilled with Paranormalcy's production team because they're really determined not just to try and get it made, but to get it made in the best possible way. So, yay for exciting movie news!

About Paranormalcy:

Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.
But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

So much for normal.

News 4:

YA author Mari Mancusi has revealed the cover for The Blood Coven Vampires, releasing a two-in-one volume of the first two books in the Blood Coven Vampire series. (1# Boys That Bite and 2# Stake That).
Expected publication: October 4th 2011.

About Boys That Bite:

Technically Sunshine can't get killed-because she's immortal. Well, not quite yet. Due to the worst case of mistaken identity with her dark-side-loving twin sister at a Goth club called Club Fang, Magnus, a vampire hottie, went for Sunshine's innocent neck. Now if she doesn't reverse it in time, Magnus will be her blood mate forever and she's doomed to be a blood-gulping, pasty, daylight-hating vampire. That would seriously bite.

And now, after the unfortunate slaying of the vampire leader, Sunshine, her sister Rayne, and Magnus must find the one thing that can solve her problem: the Holy Grail. They wish it were a joke but it's not. It's absolutely necessary that Sunshine gets out of this in time, because somehow she scored the hottest prom date in her school, the mouth-watering Jake Wilder. So she just can't be a vampire for the prom-let alone the rest of eternity.

About Stake That!:

Two sisters—as different as the sun and the rain. For one, getting into the Blood Cover is to die for, but it seems destiny has something else in mind...

Rayne McDonald had it all figured out. Get turned into a vampire, become the mate of the Blood Coven leader, and live the high-life for all eternity. Too bad the head vamp took a bite out of her twin sister by mistake. Now, not only is Rayne still not a vampire, but she learns she's a slayer instead—destined to destroy vamps gone bad.

After being recruited by a secret organization, Rayne is given her first mission: infiltrate a seedy bar downtown and expose its vampire owner, Maverick, for purposely spreading a nasty blood virus. Luckily the Blood Coven sends some help—in the form of sexy vampire Jareth. Will vampire and slayer be able to settle their differences and work together to bring down the evil Maverick? Or will they find their own hearts on the line?

"Waiting On" Wednesday (8) The Pledge

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week are:

The Pledge by Kimberly Derting
Expected publication: November 15th 2011

I'm very interested in reading this book, I loved the two first books in her Body Finder series.

Words are the most dangerous weapon of all.

In the violent country of Ludania, the classes are strictly divided by the language they speak. The smallest transgression, like looking a member of a higher class in the eye while they are speaking their native tongue, results in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina has always been able to understand the languages of all classes, and she’s spent her life trying to hide her secret. The only place she can really be free is the drug-fueled underground clubs where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. It's there that she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy named Max who speaks a language she's never heard before . . . and her secret is almost exposed.

Charlie is intensely attracted to Max, even though she can’t be sure where his real loyalties lie. As the emergency drills give way to real crisis and the violence escalates, it becomes clear that Charlie is the key to something much bigger: her country’s only chance for freedom from the terrible power of a deadly regime.
