This hotly anticipated sequel to CLARITY delivers another dark, paranormal mystery.

When you can see things others can't, what do you do when someone's watching you?

Everybody knows about Clarity "Clare" Fern. She's the psychic girl in school, the one who can place her hands on something and see hidden visions from the past.

Only Clare would rather not be a celebrity. She prefers hanging back, observing. Her gift is not a game to her.

But then someone starts playing with her head . . . and heart. Messages and gifts from a secret admirer crop up everywhere Clare turns. Could they be from Gabriel, the gorgeous boy who gets Clare's pulse racing? Or from Justin, Clare's hopeful ex-boyfriend who'd do anything to win her back?

One thing is certain. Clare needs to solve this mystery, and soon. Because the messages are becoming sinister, and a girl in town has suddenly disappeared.

Adventures on the Mediterranean
Having never visited Nice, France before I didnt know what to expect, I had seen pictures and read books, but I decided to go with an open mind. There was one thing I was sure going to do. That was to buy a bottle of Olive Oil. I had read that there was a shop in Nice that had really good Olive Oil and I wanted to try it out.

With my travel book in hand I traveled the streets asking some locals for directions when I stumbled into road blocks or just couldnt seem to find the street. Along the way, the path was filled with venders who had set up shop on long white tables. I dont know if that was something they do all the time or if it was just my luck. I do like to support artist and I did buy some silver jewelry from a silversmith, he was kind enough to give me directions.

After spending a good deal of time looking for the shop, I found it to be quite anti-climatic. The store was cute and was filled wall to wall with different oils; I suppose my problem with it was that you couldnt try any of the oils. I asked the salesclerk which one was the best and she told me that it really depends on my taste. So, I took a gamble and grabbed the first one I saw. It did turn out to be quite good and worth the hassle in finding the store. I wonder if they take online orders?

As I made my way out of the store, two little old ladies were eyeing it. The one closes to me was about to take a step onto the curb. She must have miss-judged the height of the curb because she stumbled and was about to fall, thanks to my fast reflexes I stepped forward and caught her; preventing her from falling onto the concrete ground. She was very grateful and thanked me over and over again.

Thinking about it afterwards, I thought if this had been a book she would have invited me home for supper where it just so happened that they were having a party and I would have met her incredibly handsome grandson or something like that. But, nope, we parted ways and all I have is wishful thinking of what could have been.

Nice is a great place to travel to and people watch. All are there for different reasons. Some are there to hit the beach and its clear waters, others are there as a stopping point before they move further down the Mediterranean, and some are there for the Olive Oil. Whichever serves you best you are sure to have your own adventure.

Thanks to, Mysterious Rose, for letting me share with you all today. You can find me over at my blog mmshelley.blogspot.com and on twitter @MM_Shelley and be sure to take a look at my book, Mishap & Mayhem.

Much love,

M.M. Shelley

Thank you so much M. M. Shelly for being here today, It's been a pleasure and I'd really enjoyed your guest post.
Good luck with future books:-)

Interview with author Laura Bickle

I'm so happy to welcome Laura Bickle to the blog today.  she's going to tell us about herself and her books.

Feel free to post any comments and/or questions you have for Laura Bickle in the comments.

Author bio
Laura Bickle (a.k.a. Alayna Williams) has worked in the unholy trinity of politics, criminology, and technology for several years. She lives in the Midwestern U.S. with her chief muse, owned by four mostly-reformed feral cats. Writing as Laura Bickle, she's the author of EMBERS and SPARKS for Pocket - Juno Books. Writing as Alayna Williams, she's the author of DARK ORACLE and ROGUE ORACLE. More info on her urban fantasy and general nerdiness is here: www.salamanderstales.com

Thanks so much for hosting me! I'm very excited to meet you and your readers!

If you could visit anywhere (real or fictional), were would you go?
I would love to visit ancient Egypt. I have a persistent dream about napping in the sunshine on the roof of a building, surrounded by cats. Plus, the library at Alexandria...irresistible.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
I hope that I am doing much the same thing: sitting in the sunshine with a cat at my feet, enjoying far too much of my husband's excellent pasta, and telling stories.
I'm also very fortunate in that my day job is in a library. So I'm able to spend time with books wherever I am.

What does the word home mean to you?

Home is where the people who love you are. I don't know that it's necessarily a geographic space. But as long as I feel loved, I always feel at home. Sort of like a turtle, who takes her home on her back, wherever she goes.

For people who have yet to read your series can you describe the Anya Kalinczyk series in three sentences?
By day, Anya Kalinczyk is an investigator with the Detroit Fire Department. By night, she pursues malicious spirits with an eccentric team of ghost hunters and her fire salamander familiar. Anya must stop an attractive arsonist intent on summoning an ancient entity that will leave Detroit in cinders

Will you mention 5 words about Anya Kalinczyk?
Five words that come immediately to mind are: outsider, exorcist, seething, intense, and solitary.

You also write books under the name Alayna Williams will you tell us a little about your Oracle series?
Tara Sheridan swore off criminal profiling after narrowly escaping a serial killer who left her scarred for life. By combining Tarot card divination with her own intuition, she must help an intense federal agent find a missing scientist who has unlocked the destructive secrets of dark energy. The agent, Harry Li, draws her out of her self-imposed exile and back into the world.

If you had the chance to meet any character from one of your books in real life, who would it be and why?
Definitely Sparky the fire salamander from EMBERS and SPARKS. My favorite character is, hands down, Sparky the fire salamander. There's a scene in which Anya has crawled into bed and is fretting about her investigation. Sparky ignores the dog bed she's purchased for him, crawls into bed, and snuggles up with Anya and his Glow-Worm toy. He reminds me a lot of unconditional love...as people, we can fail and make wrong choices. But I wanted Anya to have a sense of that unconditional love, even when she screws up.

This may be a hard question but can you quote something from one of your books that defines you as a writer?
The first two lines of EMBERS are lines that really resonated with me:
"Truth burned.
"It always burned, even in the cold, dark hours of the morning when nearly everyone slept."
For me, writing is a lot about exploring ideas and truths, even if they aren't always pleasant. Every once in awhile, I think it's good to go rooting around in the dirt of my fears for story fodder. We all have things that scare us and tend to linger. Maybe it's a childhood terror, a phobia, a bit of something inexplicable that boils up once in blue moon in a recurring dream. Every so often, I take my shovel to the forgotten stuff in the back of my brain and see what I can unearth. Things like what happens when one gets to close to evil - does it act like a contagion? Like feeling isolated. Like Chernobyl. About knowing the future and being powerless to change it.
Because things scare me, I have to write about them.

What are you working on now?
I'm working on a couple of fantasy projects. Like my other books, they involve female protagonists. Somehow, my heroines always wind up with pets...be they cats, salamanders, or other familiars.

Which books are sitting at the top of your TBR pile?
My TBR pile is completely out of control! At the top are: Yvonne Navarro's CONCRETE SAVIOR, Phillipa Ballantine's SPECTYR, Jenna Black's DARK DESCENDENT, Julie Kagawa's THE IRON KING, Jeri Smith-Ready's SHIFT, and Ann Aguirre's KILLBOX.

Thanks very much for chatting with me! I had a lot of fun.

Thank you so much Laura for stopping by, it's been an absolute pleasure and I really enjoyed reading yout answers to the questions.
I wish you good luck with all your future books and I hope to see you here on Mysteriouesbooks again some other time.

GIVEAWAY! Win Delicate Freakn' Flower by Eve Langlais

Author Bio

So you want to know a little about me? Well, I'm in my mid thirties, married 11 years to a wonderful supportive man--yes, he's a hunk-- who gave me three beautiful--noisy-- children aged ten, seven and four. I work as a webmistress/customer service rep from home and in my spare time--of which there is tragically too little-- I write, read or Wii.

I was born in British Columbia, but being a military brat lived a little bit everywhere--Quebec, New Brunswick, Labrador, Virginia (USA) and finally Ontario. My family and I currently reside in the historic town of Bowmanville, about an hour or so out of Toronto.

Wow was that ever boring!!! Now for the fun stuff.

I'm writing fantasy the way I like it--hot with a touch of magic. I enjoy reading and writing stories that push the envelope of what we consider normal, and I love to cross the line into fantasy. I tend to have alot of sexual tension in my tales as I think all torrid love affairs start with a tingle in our tummies. My heroes are very male, you could even say border line chest thumping at times. So if you want a truly sensitive man, I am not for you. But that said, my men will do almost anything for the one they love. Even babysit.

I'd love to tell you more, but judging from the sounds in the living room the children are at it again, which means I'll need a mop and loads of patience. What I really need is a robot maid like Jane Jetson! Thanks for checking me out and hope to see you again soon.

Delicate Freakn' Flower
Eve Langlais
This is an erotic paranormal romance with M/F/M theme.

Dammit , just how many toes was she going to have to stomp on before people realized she was a delicate freakin’ flower?

Naomi doesn’t want to follow tradition and settle down with a violence-loving, chest thumping shapeshifter. She grew up in a household with five, testosterone laden brothers where none of the dishes ever matched, the ugly-as-sin furniture could withstand any catastrophe, and where crazy glue was bought by the case.

When fate—with a snicker—makes her meet not one, but two mates, Naomi digs her heels in and refuses to do what her wolf—and her body—demands. No way is she voluntarily allowing herself to get hitched to a pair of dumbass—totally hot and muscled—lacrosse players.

Can Ethan, the towering Kodiak bear, and Javier, the sexy, tanned jaguar convince this she-wolf that life with them won’t be all chaos? And can this delicate freakn’ flower unbend her prejudices enough to recognize she needs a pair of men who can handle her thorns—and her passion?

Interview with author Sherry Soule, Beautiful Broken tour

I'm so happy to welcome Sherry Soule to the blog today. She's stopping on her Beautiful Broken tour and she's going to tell us about herself and her book, Beautiful Broken.
Beautiful Broken was published June 30th 2011.

Feel free to post any comments and/or questions you have for Sherry Soule in the comments.

Author bio
Sherry Soule has won numerous awards for her short stories and now writes fulltime. She loves cats, gobbles lemon muffins and lives on peppermint mochas. She lives in San Francisco Bay Area with her family and her black cat, Charm who long ago accepted the fact that she's not a morning person, rarely cooks, and loves all things supernatural. She is hard at work on the next book in the Spellbound Series.

Find Sherry on the web:

If you could visit anywhere (real or fictional), were would you go?

Mystic Falls. I'd like to hang out with Damon and Stefan for a day.

Do you listen to music when you write, if yes would you mention some of it?

In the last scene of Beautifully Broken, I listened to Turning Tables by Adele.
Otherwise, I like it tranquil when Im writing.

What does the word “Home” mean to you?

Family.

If you could have an ability, what would you choose?

Eternal thinness. lol

For people who have yet to read your book can you describe Beautifully Broken in three sentences?

Shiloh Ravenwolf is a sixteen-year-old heritage witch that lives in the gloomy town of Whispering Pines, where teenagers have mystically disappeared for years. Now Shiloh's would-be boyfriend is next on the supernatural hit list. So, she decides it's her duty and Destiny (Yes, with a capital "D") to find out what is causing the unexplained phenomena before it claims another life...

What kind of research did you do before writing this book?

Researched gloomy, fog-shrouded towns, Wicca, Witchcraft, and haunted houses.

Will you mention 5 words about Shiloh Ravenwolf?

Quirky. Fearless. Insecure. Romantic. Survivor.

If you had to choose one thing you like the most from the cover of Beautifully Broken, what would it be?

The mansion is fantastic. The book cover for the sequel, Beautifully Haunted is even more gorgeous. The talented Parajunkee Designs creates all of my awesome covers.

What are you working on now?

The sequel. The first chapter is tough to write without doing a massive info-dump. *sigh*

Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?

A world famous, bestselling novelist. Hey, a girl can dream, cant she? J

Thank you so much Sherry for stopping by it's has been a great pleasure and I really enjoyed your interview answers.I wish you the best of luck with the rest of your tour and I can't wait to read your future books.

Thirteenth Daughter. Heritage Witch. Demon Slayer.

They say every town has its secrets, but that doesnt even begin to describe Whispering Pines. The townsfolk are a superstitious lot and the mystical disappearance of a local teen has everyone murmuring about a centuries old witchs curse.

Sixteen-year-old Shiloh Ravenwolf is a heritage witch from the Broussard family, a family both destined and cursed. When she takes a summer job at Ravenhurst Manor, she discovers a ghost with an agenda. Thats where she meets the new town hottie, Trent Donovan, and immediately becomes spellbound by his charms. Yet she is determined to discover the connection between them.

Finally, Shiloh's met someone who is supercute and totally into her, but Trent may be the next victim on the supernatural hit list. And Shiloh is the only person with the power to save him. Complicated much?

It sucks to have a destiny, especially since Shiloh would rather spend her summer being a normal girl who worries about clothes and boys, not the supernatural. But shes never been normal, and the stranger things become the more her own magical senses awaken.

With cryptic messages from a pesky wraith, she will begin to understand the mysterious significance of the strange mark branded on her wrist and decide how much she's willing to sacrifice to protect the other teenagers in town.

Unfortunately, for Shiloh, not all ghosts want help crossing over. Some want vengeance.

Interview with author Angela Henry, The Paris Secret tour

I'm so happy to welcome Angela Henry to the blog today. She's stopping on The Paris Secret tour and she's going to tell us about herself and her book, The Paris Secret.
The Paris Secret was published January 17th 2011.

Feel free to post any comments and/or questions you have for Angela Henry in the comments.

My review of The Paris Secret will be up on Monday at latest.

If you could visit anywhere (real or fictional), were would you go?
I’d go back to Paris! I fell in love with that city when I went a few years ago. I was only there a week and barely scratched the surface. Clearly, I need to go back ; ).

Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
Hopefully, in five years I’ll still be writing, exploring different genres, and growing as an author.  It would be nice if I’d be in the position to write full time in the next five years. But I’ll have to get busy and write a lot more books for that to happen.

Will you mention 5 words about Maya Sinclair?
Smart, resourceful, cautious, loyal, and confident

And 5 about Simon?
Sexy, laid-back, driven, passionate, and a little bit moody

If you had the chance to meet any character from The Paris Secret series in real life, who would it be and why?
I’d love to meet Simon’s goddaughter Francoise. I had a lot of fun writing her character. She’s a smart, sassy and opinionated 13 year-old. Her devotion to Simon is really sweet. Plus, she’s a techno geek and an anime fan like me.

What are you working on now?
I’ve usually got several projects going at once. I’m working on the sequel to The Paris Secret. I’m also working on the first book in a new urban fantasy series, as well as my first middle grade novel.

Thank you so much Angela for stopping by, it has been a great pleasure and I wish you good luck with the books your working on and the rest of your Paris Secret tour.

Less than twenty-four hours after fleeing to Paris, Maya Sinclair is the prime suspect in a brutal murder—and targeted by the real killer. When she's viciously attacked in the gardens of Versailles, Maya barely escapes with her life thanks to sexy French journalist Simon Girard.

Simon has been investigating the mysterious death of his brother, an art forger with ties to the woman Maya is suspected of killing. Still healing from heartbreak of his own, Simon reluctantly joins forces with Maya, who has awakened feelings within him he thought long dead.

Their search for answers uncovers the existence of a secret society, and puts them on a quest to find a missing crucifix rumored to hold the key to everlasting life. Together, Maya and Simon race through Paris one step ahead of a killer who will do anything to ensure some secrets remain buried forever...

Guest post and giveaway with author Stacey Thompson-Geer and Stevie Trinity, Dark Magick tour

I'm so happy to welcome Stacey Thompson-Geer and Stevie Trinity to the blog today. they are stopping on their Dark Magick tour and she's going to tell us about herself and The Characters Of Dark Magick.
Dark Magick
is the first book in The Gatekeeper series and it was published June 17th 2011.

Feel free to post any comments and/or questions you have for Stacey Thompson-Geer and/or Stevie Trinity in the comments.

Author Bios:

Stacey Thompson-Geer
Stacey is a wife and mother of three. She started writing in High School with horror short stories. One of her first is now published through the kindle - Silver Bullet. When she's not dreaming up her next story or novel, she can be found hanging out with her kids or reading one of her favorite authors. She is also an avid Facebooker and Twitter user. Stop by her website to see what she's working on and any of her backlist work.
Stevie Trinity
Stevie lives in Wyoming with her family. She loves the wide open space There is nothing better than sitting out on the prairie looking out at the stars, or driving less than an hour to the Mountains and climbing trees, and yes she still climbs trees! :)
Stevie started to write short stories when she was 12. She loves poetry and started to write poems when she was 13. She then stopped writing in her early 20s, due to raising a family and focusing her attention elsewhere. When she was 30 she started to write again.

A couple of years later the Gatekeeper series emerged. She and her co author spent many hours talking about and discussing the world they created. Stacey really encouraged Stevie to write again.

Currently Stevie is working on a historical romance about the old west in a time of amazing change! She is also working on the second book to the Gatekeeper Series.

The Characters Of Dark Magick
This really is a character driven story. You learn about their motivations and what makes them tick as people. I think this really helps the story to develop and the people in the world seem more real and fun within something hard and dark.

Lynn
Lynn is the fighter of the story. She feels like it's her duty to take care of the survivors and the people she loves. While she risks her life at every turn, she makes it clear she doesn't want some of the others to do the same. She comes off as a hard person, but when you get down further, you see the motives behind the way she acts and the choices she makes.
Lynn has a past and it does come back to haunt her. She has to navigate this new scary world while trying to stay away from these parts of her past, but she may have to face them.

Rhea
Rhea is more than she appears. She heals the wounded and is a mother, but she also has a dark past that she has to deal with. These secrets could unravel the balance her and Lynn have together. She knows this and tries to fights against it.

Raiden
He is a supporting character with a bigger part to play as we get into the series. He's a smart ass, but under that, he cares about the people he helps. Raiden is a loyal friend and great fighter, but he also has secrets that could tear the friendship he has with Lynn apart.
These are just a few of the characters that make up the Gatekeeper's world. They make mistakes and learn from them as they are pushed to the limits of themselves. I fell in love with them and hope you will too. :)

Thank you so much Stacey and Stevie for stopping by here today it was a great pleasure and your book looks amazing, I can't wait to read it.
The world has changed, we have changed. The world we once knew has fallen away and left us in a wasteland of Magick. Powerful witches and underworld gods control our lives. The past comes back in ways we are not prepared for. The Gatekeepers are our only hope. The question is if we can get to them first.
