Review: The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong

Book three in the Darkest Powers series

About The Reckoning

My name is Chloe Saunders. I’m fifteen, and I would love to be normal.

But normal is one thing I’m not.

For one thing, I’m having these feelings for a certain antisocial werewolf and his sweet-tempered brother–who just happens to be a sorcerer–but, between you and me, I’m leaning toward the werewolf.

Not normal.

My friends and I are also on the run from an evil corporation that wants to get rid of us…permanently.

Definitely not normal.

And finally, I’m a genetically altered necromancer who can raise the dead, rotting corpses and all, without even trying.

As far away from normal as it gets.

Review

Finally I got to read this third and last book in Kelley Armstrong’s Darkest Powers series. I feel like I’ve been waiting to get the book from the library forever.

I really enjoyed this book and I liked it almost as much as the previous one.
However I felt like there were some things which were not finished and I was left with some unanswered questions. I know that the main plot got an ending but there were some of the side plots that did not have an end. I missed that but other than that, the book was a great read and I loved that I finally found out who Chloe chose, there was this whole love triangle going on.

All the treads and clues from the previous two books were finally put together and the “mystery” was solved. That was what I had hoped for and that made for a great ending to this series.

I’m very interested in reading more from Kelley Armstrong she did a fantastic job at writing this series. She has a way to really catch you with her writing and the story she creates.

I give The Reckoning 4 out of 5.

Previous books:
1# The Summoning
2# The Awakening

I know exactly what you mean for the side plots but this world isn't done yet. The Gathering is the first book of another trilogy set in the same world. I want to believe that we'll get more answers there.
I loved this book by the way. I think the ending was just awesome!
