It's a place where you can list all the books you desperately want but haven't actually bought yet.
They can be old, new or forthcoming.
Read more about it HERE.

My wishlist:

Outlander
Diana Gabaldon
(Outlander #1)
Published July 26th 2005

I have heard much about this series and want to try it out.

The year is 1945. Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon--when she walks through a standing stone in one of the ancient stone circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach--an "outlander"--in a Scotland torn by war and raiding Highland clans in the year of Our Lord...1743.

Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire is catapulted into intrigues and dangers that may threaten her life...and shatter her heart. For here she meets James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, and becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire...and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

Linger
Maggie Stiefvater
(The Wolves of Mercy Falls #2)
Published July 13th 2010

I have wanted to continue this series for awhile.

In Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other.  Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack.  And Isabelle, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.

Review: Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick

Book two in the Hush, Hush series

About Crescendo

Nora Grey's life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn't pleasant, but atleast she got a guardian angel out of it: a mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But, despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He's more elusive than ever and even worse, he's started spending time with Nora's arch-enemy, Marcie Millar.

Nora would have hardly noticed Scott Parnell, an old family friend who has moved back to town, if Patch hadnt been acting so distant. Even with Scott's totally infuriating attitude Nora finds herself drawn to him - despite her lingering feeling that he's hiding something.

Haunted by images of her murdered father, and questioning whether her nephilim bloodline has anything to do with his death, Nora puts herself increasingly in dangerous situations as she desperatly searches for answers. But maybe some things are better left buried, because the truth could destroy everything - and everyone - she trusts.

Review

I really liked Hush, Hush and I couldn’t wait to read this book.
I don’t think I can get enough of Patch.I enjoyed that I got another look into the world of Patch and Nora.

The problem for me was that instead of getting stronger and closer together, Nora and Patch almost gets more apart in some weird way.

Patch is very distant and unfocused but because he is who he is, it worked in the story. What really annoyed me was Nora who was too angry, sad and very self pitying. It was frustrating to watch her jump from conclusion to conclusion without really having confirmed anything.

This book was darker than the first. I missed some funny parts that I got a few of in the first book, it gave me some kind of break from all the darkness, but at the same time without it, this book seemed more serious and the tension is building.

The overall plot was good though and I liked the deal with “The Black Hand”, it was also very interesting to find out more about what happened with Nora’s dad.

I’m still a fan. This series always surprise me in some way positively and I think that’s great.
I will definitely read the third book in this series, Silence, and I look forward to be surprised again.

I give Crescendo 3 out of 5.

Other books in this series:
1# Hush, Hush
3# Silence (October 25th 2011)

Review: Token of Darkness by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

About Token of Darkness

Cooper Blake has everything going for him until he wakes from a car accident with his football career in ruins and a mysterious, attractive girl by his side. Cooper doesn't know how Samantha got there or why he can see her; all he knows is that she’s a ghost, and the shadows that surround her seem intent on destroying her.

No one from Cooper's old life would understand what he can barely grasp himself...but Delilah, the captain of the cheerleading squad, has secrets of her own, like her ability to see beyond the physical world, and her tangled history with Brent, a loner from a neighboring school who can hear strangers' most intimate thoughts.

Delilah and Brent know that Cooper is in more trouble than he realizes, and that Samantha may not be as innocent as she has led Cooper to believe. But the only way to figure out where Samantha came from will put them all in more danger than they ever dreamed possible.

Review

This book was okay but it wasn’t as strong as I had hoped.

I didn’t feel the same connection to the story and the characters as I did with all of Amelia Atwater-Rhodes other books.

I don’t know why but the story seemed kind of incoherent and I got presented with a lot of characters who felt shallow and needed more depth.

The one character I liked was Samantha she was refreshing and at the same time emotional.
She seemed like the kind of girl you want on your side.

Usually I go through Amelia’s books in a couple of hours and I often reread the book because it’s simply not enough for me to only read it once.
This book however took me days to get through and I don’t have the same need to reread it again.

I liked that she tried something new and got from vampires and shape shifters to ghosts.
It shows me that she takes some chances.

This story just didn’t work for me but I’m still very much looking forward to her next books, Amelia is one of my favourite authors and as a reader you always wish everything you read is fantastic, but sometimes you get disappointed and that’s what happened for me here.

I give Token of Darkness 2 out of 5.

Review: Tales of Aradia: The Last Witch by L.A. Jones

Book one in the Tales of Aradia: The Last Witch series

About Tales of Aradia: The Last Witch

Unknown to the humans who hung innocent people at the Salem Witch Trials real witches of the hidden race were killed for fear of exposure or at least that's what all the vampires, werewolves, and other races thought. There was not one witch whom survived the genocide of the Salem Witch Trials. But one day a girl named Aradia moves to Salem, MA and all that changes.

Review

An interesting story about an unique girl and a original take on the Salem witch trials.
The beginning of this book was great, I like the story about all the real witches that needed to be executed during the Salem witch trails because the other supernatural beings “The hidden race” was afraid of exposure to humans.

The story was so well written and I read the whole book very fast. It’s an easy read and I must complement L. A. Jones on her writing style.
Especially her descriptions was very interesting to read.

We follow Aradia, she’s a strong and outspoken protagonist.
I like that she has to deal with having beyond great powers and still go to school and try to act normal.
The thing I was sad about was that the book at one point got sidetracked and a little irritating. Every boy Aradia sees is more hot and amazing than the one before and it got to much for me. I wanted more witch and less teenage drama.

The plot was enjoyable and it kept me hanging on to the book, but I really look forward to the “big plot” that this book build towards and I hope to get to know more about it and witches in the next book.
I also can’t wait to see Aradia grow as a witch and as a person, and I’m very interested to follow the next chapter in her life in book two.

I give Tales of Aradia: The Last Witch 3 out of 5.

[Thank you Laura Antonia Freeman for sending me a copy of your book]

Next books in this series:
2# Tales of Aradia The Last Witch Volume 2
3# Tales of Aradia The Last Witch Volume 3

"Waiting On" Wednesday (14) Burn the Night

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week are:

Burn the Night by Jocelynn Drake
(Dark Days #6)
Expected publication: June 28th 2011.

The Great Awakening approaches…

After eons in exile, the naturi have broken their chains and now roam the Earth bent on revenge. It is the sworn duty of Mira, the Fire Starter, to protect the Nightwalker race—though even she may be powerless to withstand the horrific onslaught. As Mira and her brave lover, the vampire slayer Danaus, stand ready to do battle, thousands of winged shapeshifters darken the skies. The war of ultimate extermination has begun, and the battleground is Mira’s home turf.

The humans don’t yet recognize the doom descending upon them. And the Nightwalkers will surely perish unless they unite with outcast naturi who claim to want peace. But these unexpected “allies” are the same demons who have long worked for Mira’s destruction—and in these darkest of days the lines between friend and foe will blur treacherously before the bloody end of all things.
